Practice:
Improvement happens over time and comes from a commitment to consistent, quality training. Players are strongly encouraged to train independently outside of team activities and to maintain their fitness, eat well, hydrate, and get adequate rest.
Games:
Arrive at least 30 minutes before kickoff and be mentally and physically prepared. Players on the sideline are expected to stay engaged, understand the flow of the game and actively support teammates.
Attendance:
Notify your coach in advance if you will miss a practice or game. Sessions are planned ahead and absences affect the entire team. While soccer may not be your top priority, you do have a responsibility to be prepared and make the most of your opportunities on the field.
Uniforms:
All players must purchase the basic kit (light jersey, dark jersey, shorts, socks). Additional items are optional. Bring both jerseys to every game. No jewelry is permitted at practices or games. Uniforms are to be worn for games only.
Attitude:
A positive attitude builds trust and teamwork. Support teammates through the highs and lows of the season. While we compete to win, our primary goal is player development - teamwork and sportsmanship define success as much as the scoreboard.
Player Development:
Success stems from confidence - in yourself, your teammates and your coaches. Confidence is built through preparation and experience. We do not expect perfection but we do expect intensity, effort and a commitment to doing your best.
Play Hard. Play Smart. Play Together. Have Fun.
PLAYER:
Take pride in being a member of SYNERGY and always strive to do your best.
Believe in yourself, trust your teammates and be a team player.
Play in control of your emotions and do not lose your temper.
Do not mock, criticize or argue with referees, coaches, players or spectators.
We do not tolerate bullying at any SYNERGY sponsored activity including practice and games.
Consequences include loss of a starting spot, reduced playing time, game suspension and ultimately expulsion from the club/team.
After every game shake hands with your opponent.
Win with humility and lose with dignity.
PARENT/GUARDIAN:
Focus on the positive not the negative.
Encourage good sportsmanship and fair play.
Learn the game and applaud good play on both sides of the ball.
Do not coach or officiate from the sideline.
It confuses the players and annoys the referees.
Do not mock, criticize or argue with referees, coaches, players or spectators.
Relax and enjoy the game!
One of the biggest challenges facing all youth sports is a referee shortage and this is having a huge impact on youth soccer. If you are interested in becoming a referee (minimum age 13) or have allowed your certification to lapse and want to renew, please contact the RefereeCommissioner@EastCentralSoccer.com.
